The Best Arizona Desert Gardening Guide
The Full Story
Growing up, my parents had a garden every year whether we rented or owned. I always had an abundance of plants, flowers and vegetables surrounding me in my yard. My Mother and Father both had a love for plants, trees, flowers and gardens and it showed in our backyards.
It likely all started because my paternal Grandfather had a degree in horticulture, taught horticulture classes at ASU, and then ran a very successful honey business in Mesa, AZ. My Father while growing up, helped take care of their 2 ½ acre farm, garden, over 50 trees and a successful honey business.
Much of what I know came from my Father and the countless hours of help he gave me getting my first gardens ready. I have so many questions I wish I could still ask him, but I can pass on the knowledge he did give. A lot of what I have learned since has been from research and trial and error. Even through the errors, my garden will always reward me with fresh organic vegetables.

Mission
There is endless information available about gardening, but this book covers only the steps to get your first garden started. You don’t need all the other information to start your first garden, and in fact, most of it won’t make sense until you see it for yourself. Gardening in the desert in Arizona is different than anywhere else so that’s why I felt this step by step, simple, get you started book is so important.
Vision
I believe everyone can garden and have access to fresh organic vegetables. I don't use any synthetic fertilizers, bug sprays or deterrents. If your garden is packed full of the right companions, just adding things like rice water , epsom salt water, or banana water are all your plants will need.
